Mercedes-Benz 540K launched Special Product 540Ks in 1936. Designed on the short 2,980 mm (117 in) wheelbase chassis, the body was carefully crafted. Its price of 28,000 marks, some RM6, 000 above the price of standard models, meant only 32 were ever built.
