On top of normal cars and roadster, tweleve special cars were developed in an extended length chassis with specification one mm 3 880 (153 in) wheelbase. These cars were only developed for the Nazi hierarchy, as saloons with six seats convertible. In allowing the armor plate, these cars had developed De Dion rear suspension. Its maximum speed was 140 km / h (87 mph) because of appropriate of their higher weight.

In late May 1942, after the attempted assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in Prague, the Reich Chancellery would only use armored cars for ministers and leaders of friendly powers. In 1942, along with 20 large Mercedes-Benz 770s they sent an additional 20 540Ks two lounges developed as armored door. These were delivered in 1942 and 1943. For continueing seven shielded rooms was placed at the end of 1943, and in April 1944 these were delivered. One of these cars were given as a gift from Adolf Hitler to Ante Pavelic, leader of the Independent State of Croatia. After the war this car was captured and used for the first time by Ivan Krajacic, and then by Josip Broz Tito.
